The IT Desk Support Specialist reports to the Director of IT and is responsible for ensuring that Herrero Builders’ office and field teams have reliable, secure, and efficient technology tools to perform their work. This role focuses on first-line IT support, Microsoft 365/Azure/Intune administration, and desktop troubleshooting, while also providing onsite support at construction jobsites. The ideal candidate may be based in Sand Francisco or the East Bay, with either SF or Walnut Creek as their primary office with travel to the other office as needed. Over time, the role will offer flexibility for limited remote work. The specialist will be a key partner in keeping our systems running smoothly, enabling project teams to stay productive, connected, and focused on delivering successful projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To achieve success at Herrero Builders, we expect certain behaviors that are aligned with our core ideologies that will allow the IT Desk Support Specialist to perform the following tasks: 

  • provide first-line IT support to office and field staff, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless technology use
  • troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for desktop and mobile devices
  • manage and support Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra, and Intune environments, including account provisioning, security compliance, and device management
  • coordinate with project teams to set up IT systems at new jobsites and maintain connectivity throughout construction
  • document and track support tickets, solutions, and recurring issues to drive continuous improvement.
  • provide onsite IT support at job locations 
  • manage IT equipment life cycle
  • collaborate with team members and external vendors to escalate and resolve advanced technical issues
  • support cybersecurity awareness and enforce company IT policies and standards
